Joe Jonas got emotional during a recent performance of the song “Hesitate” at a stop on the Jonas Brothers’ tour. The singer recently announced his divorce from wife Sophie Turner, and he told fans not to believe everything they hear.

During Saturday’s Jonas Brothers concert in Los Angeles, Joe Jonas took a moment to speak to the crowd, thanking fans for their support in recent days. He also made sure to tell them, “If you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it.”

Jonas then began singing “Hesitate,” off the group’s 2019 album Happiness Begins. This was a special song to Jonas and Turner. As the singer said in the Jonas Brothers documentary Chasing Happiness, “‘Hesitate’ is a song I wrote. It’s like my vows before I wrote my vows. It’s my promise to Sophie.”

In a fan video from Jonas’ recent performance of the song, he appears to get teary-eyed while singing. Another fan video from the concert shows Jonas’ parents Denise and Kevin Sr. reacting to the performance. They also appear to be emotional.

Us Weekly reports that during another performance of “Hesitate” last week, Jonas tweaked the song’s lyrics. Instead of singing, “Don’t be scared because I’m on your side,” he reportedly sang, “Don’t be scared because I’m on her side.”

Jonas Filed for Divorce Last Week

Last week, news broke that Jonas had filed for divorce from Turner after four years of marriage. There had been rumors that the couple was separated. Jonas and Turner later confirmed their split in a joint statement, calling it a “united decision.”

The couple shares two daughters together, aged 3 and 1. According to reports, Jonas and Turner have been having problems for about six months now. It was reported that Jonas has been caring for the couple’s children for three months. Turner has been busy filming a new series in the UK.
